The Contract Law Division of the Assistant General Counsel for Finance and Litigation has an opening for an attorney at the GS-11 or GS-12 level. (Beginning annual salary for GS-11 is $46,469 and for GS-12 is $55,694.) The Contract Law Division’s attorneys are responsible for advising the Department’s contracting offices and programs as to all aspects of federal procurement law. The Division is responsible for providing preaward advice, assisting in source selection and handling, as appropriate, bid protest and contract claim litigation arising out of the Department’s procurements.. The selected applicant will be equally comfortable providing client advice, reviewing solicitations and contracts for award, and handling case litigation. Prior experience relating to federal procurement law is helpful, but not necessary. For GS-12, favorable consideration will be given to academic achievement and/or a strong writing background.
